The Watchman Newsletter

Welcome to The Road to God Ministry’s Debut Newsletter!

“If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people.” Ezek 33:3 (KJV)

For some time now requests have been made to The Road to God Ministry for some form of continuing newsletter that mailed out to all those who may request it. These individuals all wished to have a non-stop flow of information on both Jewish and Gentile Christianity; not just information on the ministry, but also news and information, prophecy and eschatology (end times studies), editorials, guest articles and biblical lessons.

As true Christians, regardless if we are Jewish or Gentile, we have a grave responsibility to bear to one another. This task in truth is arguably equal with the one that Christ gave us in the pages of Matthew Chapter 28 which we know as the Great Commission. For it is here in the writings of the prophet Ezekiel that we can read of the Watchman (see chapter 2 & chapter 33:1-10). As true believers in Messiah, as people who are fundamentalists, or ones who adhere to the truth of the Bible, Ezekiel tells us it is our job to sound the horn of danger. If those who hear the horn and ignore it the responsibility for doing so is on their own shoulders. But if those same people fall and it was due to the fact that the danger was never announced, that you never sounded the horn, and then the responsibility for their loss will be placed at YOUR feet. Now I do not know about you, but that surely seems a heavy responsibility to bear.

It was for that reason that The Watchman newsletter was created. This will be a bi-monthly newsletter starting in August 2010. Each newsletter will contain a editorial from the ministry president Steven Hendin, a guest article of some significance, an “Ask the Pastor” section which will be answer by Reverend Pastor Thomas W. Miller of First General Baptist Church, several tidbits of what is currently happening in the news and how they may corressopond with Eschatology (End Times Events), and lastly information on The Road to God Ministry itself.

If you have any questions or comments or if you wish to contribute material for the newsletter you may use the mailing address give on the financial donation section or e-mail us at theroadtogodministry@gmail.com.

As believers we live in a dangerous world, continually surrounded by physical dangers such as terrorism, thievery and murder.  much greater danger lies in wait.  Yet, a greater and or us as true Christians and that is in the form of false teachers, prophets and doctrines.

I am a saved Jew who is proud to call myself a fundamentalist for I adhere to the fundamentals of Scripture. I am proud take these views even further for I have found myself becoming a Biblical literalist. I truly believe in what the Bible says, word-for-word. I believe that metaphors and analogies will be obvious or given by signals in the Bible. Therefore, we as Christians have no right to pick and choose as to what we want to be metaphors or analogies in Scripture. It is for this reason that we have a plethora of false doctrine teachings spread throughout the world today.

One of the greatest false prophets/teachers of today has portrayed himself as one of the greatest heroes within Gentile Christianity leadership for the peace, service, and aid to the Jewish people. Televangelist and author John Hagee has for years spoken and written for his causes to promote the protection of Israel. In fact, Pastor Hagee of Cornerstone Church in Texas has made several political marches in conjunction with rabbinical Jewish groups upon Washington D.C.’s politicians in support of Zionist causes including the spring 2010 Gaza flotilla raid that was made by the Israeli commandos when the Palestinians attempted to run a blockade. Pastor Hagee is an outspoken and strong supporter for most Zionist causes which shows his belief that God does support the Jews hold upon Israel.

What is not universally known is that Pastor Hagee teaches Two-Covenant Theology, which is the doctrine that the Jewish people are still under the Old Covenant (Mosaic Law) and thus should not be evangelized to. His teaching is that Gentiles do not need to evangelize the Jewish people since in the end “And so all Israel shall be saved” (Romans 11:26a). This is simply unbiblical! This doctrine is false! This doctrine is of the devil! For this doctrine will condemn thousands upon thousands of Jews to the depths of Hell!

hagee.jpg While Pastor Hagee has become a favorite for his mega church, for TBN television network and for his fans of thousands worldwide I believe we must keep the literal truth in sight. While this false teacher plays on being one of the greatest heroes of Gentile Christianity to the Jews today the truth is the Jewish people can have NO GREATER ENEMY! While he may be doing a great job in helping the Jewish people recalling our physical property, he is also helping us lose our eternal souls; and I say that is a terrible bargain.

Thus, I have to say, beware John Hagee.

I Am Adopted by Brother Craig Logan Youth Director of First General Baptist Church of Waterford (USA)

All believers in Yeshua, the Christ, are to praise God in one voice. Ephesians 4:4says “There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.” The Church of Jesus Christ is but one body, regardless of heritage, culture, or perspective. And this diversity under one roof allows not only for a richer worship, but it allows the local church to reach more nonbelievers. Messianic segregationists hurt the body in the same way that other separations do. The Holy Bible does not support this principle. The body only functions at capacity when all of the parts are in welcome communication with one another. The Jewish race is still a chosen people with a special place in God’s ultimate plan, but all believers are adopted as it says in Ephesians 1:5 that God has “predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.”

Let me now develop a personal illustration for the point I am attempting to make.

I am adopted. This is one major way that I identify myself. I was born out of wedlock to a woman with two other children. Unable to support me, I was thrust into the foster care system. I praise the Lord that she choose life and gave me up for adoption. Knowing that her situation was not healthy, she hoped for a better life for the son she will never know.

At the same time, there was a couple that could not have children of their own that had one adopted child and was in the process of adopting another. These two wonderful people spent the better portion of six years filling out paperwork, interviewing with agencies, and sifting through legal red tape before they finally were blessed with their second child, me.

I tell you this, not to boast about how special I am but to illustrate a greater Spiritual point. I, as I said before, am adopted, not only in my earthly family but also in my spiritual family. Romans 8:15 says that “ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” Later in that same chapter, believers are called “children of God” and “heirs of God.” It is clear that the veil to the Holy of Holies is torn because we have the privilege to call the Almighty God our Daddy.

Now, what of the relationship between those children that were adopted and those that were born into the family of God? Just like any other healthy family the adopted children eat at a separate table while the “real” family feasts, the adopted children watch adopted television while the “real” family watches “real” television in another room, and holidays are much more favorable to the “real” children as opposed to the adopted. Does this sound silly yet? But this segregation takes place in churches everyday between Jew and Gentile believers. The Jewish race is very special to God because they are chosen by Him to be His witnesses. They are still a testament to His love and mercy.

All believers are born again into the family of God. For Jesus said in John 3:3 “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” The prophet Isaiah says also that Whether born into the family or not, our sin has divorced us from the family of God. It is only by Jesus’ shed blood that we are returned to him, or, in the case of the Gentile, brought to his for the first time. Just like my earthly parents spent years sacrificing and working on my behalf, so does God in the adoption of every sinner.

So, may we rejoice together? May we love together? May we serve together? Let us be a Holy and united family of God. Let us truly be “one body” in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Ask the Pastor with Pastor Kenny Baldwin of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church of Waterford (USA)

Dear Pastor,

Why is it that so few Americans wish to go on overseas missionary trips?

Michael R., Kenya

First, it is important to understand why we need to go on the mission trips, to do so we need look at Matthew 28:18-20, (18)"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying All power is given unto me in heaven and earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost: (20) teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen"

Jesus commanded us to go to all nations to spread the gospel teaching and baptizing, so we need to go and do the work Christ wants us to do.

With that in mind most Americans have a comfort zone. They are used to everything at their fingertips. So they don't want to leave that comfort. I think that they are afraid of what they can't have comfort in. They find excuses not to go, they have work at home, the family, no money, it is like the people who were called by Jesus, they all wanted to follow him but they gave all kind of excuses (read Matthew 8:20-22). So the simple answer is many Americans have those excuses and are afraid to leave their comfort behind. I pray that people will start doing what God wants them to instead of relying on their comforts and fears of their life.

I hope that answers your question.

Sincerely,

Rev. Kenny Baldwin
(Assistant pastor of Amazing Grace Fellowship Church)

Evangelism Ministry News

Exciting news from The Road to God Ministry! Over the past two months the ministry has been working with local churches in what we call “The Summer of Evangelism” in our effort to witness to the Southeastern, Michigan (USA) community with the Good News of Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus the Christ). On back on May 31st, Memorial Day, The Road to God Ministry joined forces with our home church First General Baptist of Waterford as we created a float and passed out tracts to over 1,000+ people along the parade route. On July 3rd, the ministry again partnered with the church for a second parade this time the Clarkston 4th of July Parade and we successfully passed out over 2,200+ tracts to the parade watchers. July 13th through the 18th the ministry worked closely with our home church as well as Charity Baptist Church of Oxford, Michigan, Highland Hills Baptist of Highland, Michigan and international missiologist Bob Hollis as we worked a tent ministry at the Oakland County Fair in Northern Oakland County. Praise be the Lord 517 souls were led to the Kingdom of Heaven!

The Road to God Ministry Mission Statement

1. To boldly present the Gospel of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.

2. To evangelize to the Jew first and also to the Greek (all Gentiles) as stated in Romans 1:16, but both must be evangelized to EQUALLY.

3. Adhere to the tenets of Olive Tree Theology; to the beliefs that Jews and Gentile believers in Messiah can worship together and maintain their own cultural distinctiveness.

4. Preach and teach against all forms of Replacement Theology!

5. To teach the Jewish roots and Jewishness of true Biblical Christianity to all Christians.

6. We are BIBLICAL LITERALISTS, taking the words of the Bible whenever possible. The ministry uses the Jewish TANAKH for the Old Testament and the KING JAMES VERSION of the Bible for the New Testament.

7. Our last and mission statement is based upon the evangelistic work done by The Road to God Ministry and it's creed that, "We are working to build God's Kingdom, and not man's empire."
