The Road to God Ministry's History
| |
The Road to God Ministry began as a personal testimony of Steven Hendin's journey to salvation through Yeshua haMashiach. It was through this journey that Steven made a foolish promise to his family; never to outright evangelize the Good News of Jesus Christ to them and thus never to embarrass the family with his new love for the Lord. In keeping with his promise Steven chose to write his testimony and had it published; the book was called "The Road to God."

After the book's release in 2000 Steven started a small group based out of Bethany Baptist Church in Clawson, Michigan. Through this independent Baptist church, Steven who was a student-minister of outreach for Congregation Shema Yisrael located in Bloomfield Hills also worked in conjunction with other local groups in an attempt to create a Messianic/Christian-based 12-step program. With very limited success and with the Lord leading Steven in other directions, Steven closed the ministry in 2003.

In 2006, with the Yeshua and the Ruach haKodesh (the Holy Spirit) leading the way Steven once again brought The Road to God Ministry to action by putting it to work evangelizing to the Jewish and Gentile communities in Oakland County Michigan. The Road to God Ministry is now an official ministry (as of 01/01/2009) based out of First General Baptist Church of Waterford, Michigan and has seen true fruit come forth for the Lord Christ.

The Road to God Ministry has a Board of Directors that oversees it's non-profit work. This board consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, and a treasurer. The ministry also currently has a freelance contractor who is translating documents into Spanish for the ministry.
